THIBAUT PETTILON I have been working on moving images for special effects features for 5 years now. Very soon, I felt the need to create my own pictures. To express my own sensitivity. So I bought my first SLR camera 5 years ago. That is when I started expressing myself. Photography is my way of contributing to this world in a sense. But it's mostly a real need. A way to define myself and positionate in this world. My preference goes to the unclean. I like rough pictures, I like traces, scars, imperfections. My photography work is mainly about what you don't see. Or rather about what you don't pay attention to. Because you think it's not worth it...The world is full of hidden energy and beautiful things. I just have to highlight them to finally tell a story through my pictures.
Arth and I never met. We have know each other for 5 years but only through the Internet. When I started submitting my pictures to photographic websites, I immediatly noticed his work. I was amazed by the similarities in our work. That is why I want this book to reunite both our souls. I liked the idea that an abstract thing could also become a real one.

ART HAEGENBARTH
Why do I take pictures? The answer is simple. For me, it's a way of expressing my feelings about the world; it seems to give me the possibility of exploration and reflection simultaneously.
Photography is the medium which plays the most important role, next to video, in creating tactics for visualizing reality. We all are cluttered with rubbish heaps of images everyday so my desire is to make photos which reflect what visual culture truly is these days and what it is not. After my philosophical studies and what I learned at the university of technology, after my imagined and real-world travels, I learned one thing above all: we shouldn't assume that the scene that is spread in front of our eyes at the moment is knowable or true in an absolute manner, because there is always more to it...maybe behind the corner, behind someone's closed eyes, or on the next page...
A true communication sometimes appears to be one sentence, which is much more than thousands of billions of images. You shall not wait for a decisive moment; it is in your every breath.
